The Neuro Defence Program Difference
Martial Arts, Reimagined for Neurodiversity

Neuro Defence eliminates the sensory and structural barriers of traditional martial arts. By integrating clinical insights from Florence Strang and Dr. Annie Clements, we have engineered a neuro-friendly curriculum and environment where students don’t just participate—they thrive.

Our Approach

Sensory-Friendly Design:

Quiet, low-clutter environments with "break zones" to support emotional regulation.

Clinically-Backed:

Developed in consultation with psychologists to replace confusing curricula with strength-based, individualized learning.

Non-Contact & Flexible:

We prioritize personal progress over rigid competition, adapting every lesson to the student’s unique talents.

Family-Centered:

Active parental involvement and online resources ensure lessons at the dojo translate to success at home.

I’m so proud of Cameron tonight!! I would have never thought he would remember all that sequence! Also, as I was sitting there watching, I couldn’t help thinking how lucky we are to have found you and this program. There has been no where else, in 12 years of extracurricular activities, that has provided Cam a safe space, where he can be goofy and funny, and allowed to fidget and move when he needs to, and be “tolerated” for his interruptions and irrelevant stories and interesting facts. No one has embraced his neurodiversity like you have, and believed in him, and continued to work WITH his differences. He’s always been the outlier in all peer groups, and can feel it, but here, he is not.  He feels supported by you, believed in by you, and wants to do well.

Seeing him thrive in this activity warms my soul.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Cheryl
